We were chosen as the design/build project manager to value engineer the Muntu Dance Theatre of Chicago’s performance space design and deliver the building at the right price when the initial cost estimate surpassed the budgeted $18 million. Construction was already far long, with the building foundation in place, and the steel and one precast-concrete wall fabricated. Thanks to the design/build process’ flexibility, our construction team fine tuned the existing design so Muntu’s building could meet the budget parameters. Additionally, work already performed and materials purchased were incorporated into the design – while preserving the original project scope.
