We structured a preferred equity joint venture between The Alter Group and Heitman Real Estate Management’s Global Investment Fund to acquire a 90 percent stake in this two building, 300,000 SF Class A office complex. Heitman is the advisor to the Kuwait-based Global Investment Fund, which invests foreign capital in United States real estate. Alter Asset Recovery structured the transaction to comply with strict Shari’ah banking laws and included a complex operating lease. Additionally, we procured debt financing for the venture. The transaction also included Loudoun II in Dulles, VA. We remain property manager for the portfolio.
